Academic Services Division

The Academic Services Division has primary responsibility for the delivery of student focused administrative functions and contributes to student-related policy development. The division is led by the Academic Registrar and provides high quality administrative and professional services in support of the University’s academic activities.

Examinations within the Academic Services Division manage all aspects of the centrally coordinated examinations process and contribute to the development of assessment policy

About This Opportunity

We are seeking expressions of interest for Casual Exam Supervisors, supervising students during their examinations occurring throughout the academic year and providing high-quality centralised administration and support for examinations held across all campuses of the University.

Our Ideal Candidate

As our ideal candidate, you must be an enthusiastic team player who is flexible and adaptable in a changing and complex working environment. You will need to be available to work outside standard business hours, Monday to Saturday and be available for work during peak exam periods – March/April, June, August/September and November.

Your skills and abilities will include:

  • ability to deliver high-quality customer focused service in a high pressure environment.
  • demonstrated customer focused interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students and academic staff.
  • Demonstrated level of proficiency with computer functioning and computer literacy across a range of basic computer applications.

The duties of this role can be physically demanding. Supervisors are required to constantly walk around a room, stand for prolonged periods, and negotiate stairs in some rooms. Due to the physical nature of the position, a reasonable level of fitness is required.

Candidates will require a high level of concentration, attention to detail and mental alertness. You will need to constantly pay attention to your surroundings/exam room. In addition, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be aged 18 years or older
  • You must have sufficient transport to get to the campus you are rostered to and be on time for your session
  • You must not be a current student (course-work) at any tertiary institution including UQ. 
  • You must have sufficient working rights in Australia, Visa sponsorship is not available.
