Professor and Chair in Paediatric Nursing

The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work and Queensland Children's Hospital are recruiting for a conjoint Professor and Chair in Paediatric Nursing. This position will be responsible for developing and leading a sustainable program of research and knowledge transfer in the area of paediatrics and child health. They will provide senior leadership in both organisations with a responsibility for developing and implementing research strategies, building research capability and capacity and demonstrating impact. The appointee will be expected to recruit and supervise research higher degree students and embed research within teaching and practice.

This position is located across UQ's St Lucia campus and the Queensland Children's Hospital at South Brisbane.

Our Ideal Candidate

To be successful for this position, you will hold a PhD in a related area with a paediatric focus, partnered with experience in the application of contemporary knowledge of paediatric nursing practices. Your sustained record of outstanding impact and international achievement in clinical teaching and/or clinical research within this discipline area will be key to success in this position. You will bring expert industry knowledge and extensive experience in a general or specialist capacity, including evidence of dissemination and adoption of new and innovative clinical techniques. You will have an international record of publications in reputed referred journals, along with a record of securing significant external funding for research in the capacity of a Chief Investigator. Finally, you will hold a distinguished record of leadership roles in quality clinical teaching at undergraduate postgraduate, professional entry level and/or research capacity building, as well as leadership in external activities that foster links with the profession.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term position for 5 years, with UQ as the employing entity. At Academic level E, the base salary will be $189,130 plus super of up to 17%. This appointment is a research-focused appointment.
