Queensland Cerebral Palsy and Rehabilitation Research Centre (QCPRRC)

The Queensland Cerebral Palsy and Rehabilitation Research Centre (QCPRRC) is a research centre within the Faculty of Medicine, The University of Queensland (UQ), and a research program for the Department of Paediatric Rehabilitation situated within the Queensland Children’s Hospital. The QCPRRC is also the lead centre for an NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence for the Australasian Cerebral Palsy Clinical Trials Network.

QCPRRC’s mission is to advance the health of children with cerebral palsy and related disabilities, supporting them and their families across their lifespan. It is closely linked with clinical services provided at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, providing research leadership to the state-wide Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (QPRS) and the Queensland Children’s Motion Analysis Laboratory (QCMAL).

About This Opportunity

The purpose of the position is to provide administrative support for the Queensland Cerebral Palsy and Rehabilitation Research Centre, and executive support for the Scientific Director.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide executive administrative support, including but not limited to preparing agendas and minutes for meetings, calendar scheduling and room bookings
  • Organise all administrative and logistical aspects of events, studies for staff and students
  • Assistance maintaining the Centre’s websites and promotional activities, including assisting in data analysis and reporting for website and stakeholder engagement
  • Assisting with organising, collating and drafting of the bi-annual newsletter, developing and maintaining Centre templates and assist in the development and printing of any special media on a needs basis

This position is based at the Centre for Children’s Health Research next to the Queensland Children’s Hospital, South Brisbane.

Our Ideal Candidate

Alongside the completion of an undergraduate degree; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Finance and Admin experience in a tertiary environment, and/or a medium to large sized organisation, including the ability to review work practices and update procedures and processes
  • Experience in using of a wide range of tools and applications for report and presentation preparation, and web-based marketing and communication applications in a network environment;
  • Highly developed communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with tact and discretion
  • An ability to exercise initiative and judgment as appropriate, and work in a flexible and dynamic environment with competing priorities to meet deadlines.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, 6 month fixed-term position at HEW Level 5.

The full-time equivalent base salary (as of 2021) will be in the range of $70,796 - $78,852, plus super of up to 17% (the total package will be in the range of $82,832 - $92,257).
