The Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL) incorporates three schools – UQ Business School, the School of Economics and the Law School – and two research centres – the Australian Institute for Business and Economics (AIBE) and the Centre for the Business and Economics of Health (CBEH).

About This Opportunity

As the Careers and Engagement Support Officer, your role includes the provision of administrative and engagement support to the Career Services Team and BEL Education where appropriate, in all activities related to the development, implementation and coordination of careers and employability activities for students from within the Faculty.

You will have varied responsibilities in the areas of student engagement, programs and events, information management and administration which includes but is not limited to:

  • With support from the Marketing, Communications and Events Team, coordinate all communications and marketing activities for the Careers Team.
  • Supporting the Careers Advisors to establish and maintain effective relationships, both internally and externally
  • Representing the team at engagement events
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of engagement programs and events
  • Coordinating the program and administrative collaboration requirements between BEL Careers, key Faculty Teams and the Student Employability Centre
  • Contributing to continual improvement of systems and processes within the BEL Careers Team remit

Our Ideal Candidate

Holding an undergraduate degree, preferably in business, you should boast experience in student engagement and marketing, and have a passion for supporting students to achieve career success. With a strong customer service ethos and experience in stakeholder engagement, it is integral to the role that you possess excellent communication skills.

Prior demonstrated experience in delivering engaging communications and activities, both web, social media and print, as well as in-person and online events is essential to the role. You will be able to prioritise you workload in a time-critical environment and have the skills to work independently. High levels of digital literacy skills, including experience using the Microsoft Suite and relevant programs including Vision6 are a requirement for this role.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, continuing position at HEW level 5.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $70,796.58 - $78,852.96 plus 17% super. The total FTE package will be in the range $81,207.84 - $90,448.98.
