Property & Facilities

The Property & Facilities Division (P&F) is responsible for delivering comprehensive facilities operations to the University community by using integrated systems and services to support the University's teaching and learning, research endeavours and strategic objectives. To achieve this, and to further improve the environment in which members of the University community study, work and live, P&F provide a range of services of Campus Operations, Infrastructure and Sustainability, Planning and Property and Project Delivery. 

About This Opportunity

Senior Security Officers at The University of Queensland provide services designed to ensure protective security of all University buildings and grounds, staff, students and visitors. Our Senior Security Officers maintain a high level professional service to stakeholders, whilst ensuring the Standards of Operation and Standards of Personal Conduct are upheld. For a full list of duties, please refer to the attached Position Description (PD).

Two (2) positions are based at our St Lucia campus and one (1) position is based at our Gatton campus.

Our Ideal Candidate

You are a dynamic and ambitious person with a completion of a diploma level qualification (Security Risk Management) with relevant work related experience. We also require you to have completed a QLD Certificate II or III in Security Operations.  Your ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing is vital to be able to produce reports, using the Microsoft Office suites and deliver a professional image to clients at our campuses. You are a team player who can quickly build rapport with your clients and team of logistics personnel and enhance these relationships as workloads develop.

It is vital that you possess the following;

  • Current Queensland Certificate II in Security Operations, including the Security Officer Unarmed, Crowd Control, Bodyguard and Monitoring modules;
  • Current St John, Red Cross or Queensland Ambulance First Aid Certificate;
  • Current Queensland C Class Drivers Licence;
  • Well-developed knowledge of security methodologies and concepts;
  • Ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.

Remuneration

These are full-time, fixed term positions at HEW level 4.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $65,424 - $69,453 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation contributions. Total FTE package will be in the range $76,546 - $81,260 per annum.
