School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences

The School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences (SCMB) combines the disciplines of Chemistry, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Parasitology into a single academic unit. The School has modern research laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment and research infrastructure. The School includes over 50 academic staff, who are widely published internationally and have extensive research backgrounds. About This Opportunity

The main area of research will be the design and synthesis of light-emitting dendrimers for use in organic light-emitting diodes for lighting, in this context organic includes both all-organic and/or organometallic materials.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in the chemistry of organic semiconductor materials with experience of preparing light-emitting dendrimers. Experience of carrying out organic synthesis, purification and characterisation of organic semiconductor materials using modern methods is a must.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term position, for up to 18 months at Academic level A.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $70,729.75 - $94,637.91, plus super of up to 17%.
